1. Agreement to these Terms
By accessing or using ilync (the “Service”), creating an account, shortening a URL, calling the API, or publishing a link-in-bio page, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and “you” includes that organization.
If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Definitions
- Operator / we / us — MikeSoft Studio, operator of ilync.
- Service — the ilync website, APIs, dashboards, short-link redirects, link-in-bio pages, and related features.
- Short Link — a shortened URL or code that redirects to a destination URL you submit.
- Bio Page — a public page at a path such as
/@usernamecontaining profile and link content you configure. - User Content — destinations, labels, usernames, avatars, taglines, codes, and other materials you submit or publish.
- API Key — a credential used to authenticate certain API requests.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, if higher) to use the Service. You must have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. The Service is not offered where prohibited by law.
4. The Service
ilync provides URL shortening, optional expiration, click analytics, account dashboards, developer APIs, private/unlisted link modes, link-safety checks, and link-in-bio pages. Features may change, be rate-limited, or be offered in preview form. We may modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice when practicable.
Documentation at /docs describes current technical behavior but does not expand warranties beyond these Terms unless expressly stated in a separate written agreement.
5. Accounts
Certain features require an account (for example saved links, API key minting, and Bio Pages). You must provide accurate information and keep credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account and API Keys.
Authentication is provided via Firebase Authentication (including Google and email/password). Your use of Google sign-in is also subject to Google’s terms and privacy policy.
Notify us promptly of unauthorized account use. We may require identity verification for security or abuse investigations.
6. API access and API Keys
- You must keep API Keys secret and use them only as permitted by the documentation and these Terms.
- We store API Keys as hashes. Treat the cleartext key as a password shown once at issuance.
- Rate limits apply to anonymous and authenticated use, including redirects. Exceeding limits may result in HTTP 429 responses or temporary blocking.
- You may not use the API to circumvent security, scrape in an abusive manner, or overload the Service.
- We may revoke keys that are leaked, abused, or associated with Terms violations.
7. Short Links, privacy modes, and analytics
7.1 Responsibility for destinations
You are solely responsible for destination URLs and for having all rights and permissions needed to shorten and distribute them. We do not endorse destinations. A Short Link is a convenience redirect—not a verification that the destination is safe, accurate, or lawful.
7.2 Visibility
- Public links may appear in public feeds or listings where enabled.
- Unlisted links are redirectable by anyone with the code but hidden from public feeds.
- Private links are restricted as described in the docs (API-oriented access controls). Misconfiguration can expose content unintendedly—review settings carefully.
7.3 Expiration and deletion
Expired links may return an error (for example HTTP 410) and may be removed. We may delete or disable links that violate these Terms, pose security risk, or are required to be removed by law. Removing a “saved link” entry in your dashboard may stop personal tracking association without guaranteeing deletion of the underlying Short Link unless a delete operation succeeds.
7.4 Analytics
Click analytics may include aggregated counts and limited technical metadata (for example platform category and referrer). Analytics are provided as-is and may be incomplete due to caching, bots, blockers, or processing failures.
7.5 Safety checks
We may reject destinations that appear to target private/reserved networks, match denylists, or fail reputation/safety heuristics. Safety checks reduce risk but are not guaranteed to catch all harmful content.
8. Link-in-bio pages
Bio Pages let you claim a username and publish social and custom links. Usernames are allocated first-come, first-served subject to availability, reserved names, and conflicts with existing short codes. We may reclaim, rename, or suspend usernames that impersonate others, infringe rights, or violate these Terms.
Published Bio Pages are public. You must not include unlawful, misleading, or infringing content. Avatar URLs and outbound links are subject to the same safety and acceptable-use rules as Short Links.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Distribute malware, ransomware, spyware, or other harmful code;
- Phish, social-engineer, or deceive others (including credential theft or fake login pages);
- Send spam, unsolicited bulk messages, or manipulative engagement schemes;
- Host or promote child sexual abuse material, terrorism content, or other illegal content;
- Infringe intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights;
- Harass, threaten, dox, or incite violence against any person or group;
- Probe, scan, or attack our systems; bypass rate limits, auth, or safety controls;
- Misrepresent affiliation with ilync, MikeSoft Studio, or third parties;
- Use Short Links or Bio Pages to conceal destinations in order to evade platform enforcement, blocklists, or lawful processes;
- Interfere with other users’ enjoyment of the Service or impose unreasonable load on infrastructure.
We may investigate violations and cooperate with platforms and law enforcement where appropriate.
10. Your content and license to us
You retain ownership of your User Content. You grant MikeSoft Studio a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, cache, reproduce, transmit, display, and distribute User Content solely as needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service (including CDN caching, backups, safety scanning, and public display of content you choose to publish).
You represent that you have all rights necessary to grant this license and that User Content does not violate law or third-party rights.
11. Our intellectual property
The Service—including software, design, logos, documentation, and branding (including “ilync” and associated marks)—is owned by MikeSoft Studio or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited right to use the Service under these Terms, no rights are granted. You may not copy, reverse engineer (except to the extent permitted by law), or create derivative works of the Service except as allowed by an open-source license covering specific components.
Where the codebase is offered under an open-source license, that license governs your rights to the code; these Terms govern use of the hosted Service at https://ilync.dev.
12. Third-party services
The Service depends on third parties (for example Firebase/Google, hosting providers, database providers, analytics, and optional reputation APIs). We are not responsible for third-party outages, policy changes, or errors. Your use of third-party destinations linked via the Service is solely between you and those third parties.
13. Availability and changes
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may perform maintenance, migrate infrastructure, or throttle traffic. Features may differ by region or account status.
14. Fees
Core features of ilync may be offered free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce paid plans, usage-based fees, or changed limits in the future. If we do, we will provide notice and additional terms before charging you. Free tiers remain subject to rate limits and these Terms.
15. Disclaimers
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY OF ANALYTICS OR SAFETY CHECKS.
We do not warrant that Short Links will always resolve, that Bio Pages will remain available at a particular username forever, or that unsafe destinations will always be blocked.
16. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MIKESOFT STUDIO AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES; OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION; ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS (US $50).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted.
17. Indemnification
You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless MikeSoft Studio and its affiliates from and against claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your User Content or Short Links; (b) your use of the Service; (c) your violation of these Terms or law; or (d) your infringement of third-party rights.
18. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access, reclaim usernames/codes, revoke API Keys, or remove User Content immediately if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, create risk/harm, or if required by law. We may also discontinue the Service with notice when practicable.
Sections that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, and governing law) will survive termination.
19. Abuse, copyright, and takedown notices
If you believe a Short Link or Bio Page is unlawful, abusive, or infringes your rights, email mikesoftstudio@gmail.com with: (1) the short code or bio URL; (2) a description of the issue; (3) your contact information; and (4) for copyright claims, a good-faith statement and signature as required under applicable law (for example DMCA elements if you are asserting a U.S. copyright claim).
We may remove or disable material and, where appropriate, terminate repeat infringers. We may share notice details with the poster of the content when permitted.
20. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to MikeSoft Studio’s principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence apply.
Before filing a claim, you agree to try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting mikesoftstudio@gmail.com. If unresolved within thirty (30) days, either party may pursue available remedies in a court of competent jurisdiction, unless a mandatory arbitration or consumer forum rule applies in your location.
NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS RIGHTS YOU HAVE THAT CANNOT BE WAIVED BY CONTRACT UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.
21. Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement regarding the Service, superseding prior understandings on the same subject, unless you have a separate written contract with us.
- Amendments. We may update these Terms by posting a revised version and updating the date. Material changes will take effect after a reasonable notice period when required; continued use constitutes acceptance where permitted.
- Severability. If a provision is unenforceable, the remainder remains in effect.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, sale, or reorganization.
- No waiver. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
- Export & sanctions. You may not use the Service if you are prohibited under applicable export control or sanctions laws.
- Force majeure. We are not liable for delays or failures due to events beyond reasonable control.
- Notices. We may notify you via the Service, email associated with your account, or by posting on https://ilync.dev.
